GRAFIEKSCHOEN

Using a printing technique from, distance is recorded. Pre-existing shoes are modified with Zinc soles. These plates of Zinc are scratchless until the first step is taken in them. Because of the floor and the weight of the person wearing the shoes, pressure is exerted on the plate of Zinc. Because of the softness of Zinc, the texture of the ground will be transferred onto the plate. With each and every step, damage and scratches are added to the plate. At the end of the walk, the soles are removed from the shoes and printed in a printing press. The scratches and marks are covered in ink and pressed onto paper. Through this method, all the steps that have been taken are visualized in a graphic image.
