ZANDFONTEIN MKIII

This sandfountain employs air pressure to function. The construction is placed above a pile of sand, and includes a compressor which builds up pressure to 10 bar. After building up, the pressure is suddenly released in one violent moment through the opening of an electronically controlled valve. The air is blown into the pile of sand, which creates a crater. This process is repeated so that the crater grows to its biggest possible size.
